Attorney Jonathan A. Pope Donated to Cherokee Retired Educators Association Scholarship

Attorney Jonathan A. Pope presented the Cherokee Retired Educators Association with a donation to their scholarship fund! He gave the organization a check for $2500.

Attorney Pope gave the Cherokee Retired Educators Association his donation at their meeting on February 5th. He is a Cherokee County Schools alumnus and wanted to present his donation as a way to honor his former educators. He presented the check to Dr. Buice, the president of the Cherokee Retired Educators Association and Attorney Pope’s sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade teacher. It was described as “an extremely touching moment for everyone.”

The Cherokee Retired Educators Association is an organization of people who have worked in the Cherokee County Board of Education and school district. It supports students, faculty, and staff in the district through scholarships, legislative initiatives, and other programs.

In addition to his support of the Cherokee Retired Educators Association, Attorney Pope is involved with various other organizations in the community. He is a former board member of the Cherokee County YMCA and has worked with Leadership Cherokee. He is also a member of multiple legal organizations, including the Lawyers Club of Atlanta, the Lawyers Foundation of Georgia, and the Gainesville-Northeast Georgia Bar Association. He is a two-term president of the State Bar of Georgia-Blue Ridge Circuit Bar Association and the regional vice president of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association.
