Jonathan A. Pope graduated from The Citadel in 1992 and received his law degree from Georgia State University in 1995. He began his legal career with the Atlanta insurance defense law firm of Chambers, Mabry, McClelland & Brooks (now Mabry McClelland). Jon focuses his trial practice exclusively on personal injury matters, including wrongful death cases, automobile accidents, truck accidents, and other cases involving catastrophic injuries.
In October of 2006, Jon was named a "Rising Star" by his peers and was recognized in the “Superlawyers” edition of Atlanta Magazine. Jon was also named one of Georgia's “40 under 40” by Georgia Trend magazine in 2004.
A member of the Executive Committee of the State Bar of Georgia, Jonathan A. Pope was sworn in as 60th president of the Young Lawyers Division on June 3, 2006. Jon is also a former district vice-president of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and a Champion of the Civil Justice PAC, Inc. Jon is a former two-term President of the Blue Ridge Circuit Bar Association, and a member of the Georgia Institute for Continuing Legal Education.

Tom Pope III graduated from The University of Georgia in 1990 and received his law degree from Mercer University in 1998. Before beginning his legal career, Tom worked in Washington D.C. with United States Congressman Ed Jenkins, and at the Georgia Lieutenant Governor’s Office. Tom began his legal career by practicing with several Atlanta insurance defense law firms, including Seacrest, Karesh Tate and Bicknese, Bovis Kyle and Burch, and Kilpatrick Stockton.
Tom focuses his trial practice on personal injury, including automobile accidents, slip and fall accidents, and workers’ compensation. Tom has dedicated a portion of his practice to helping injured workers who have workers’ compensation claims. Each year, he plays a vital role in the Kids Chance fundraising program, which offers financial and educational assistance for children of injured workers.

William G. “Billy” Hasty, a native of Canton, Georgia, is the senior partner of the law firm Hasty Pope LLP, serving Canton and Gainesville, Georgia.
Mr. William G. Hasty has practiced law in Georgia since 1974. Specializing in civil litigation, Mr. Hasty has attained some of the highest jury verdicts in the United States in cases involving exposure to pesticides. He successfully represented plaintiffs in the L-Tryptophan litigation suit, and has represented and litigated for municipal and county government entities his entire career. He has served as Canton City Attorney and as attorney for the Cherokee County Development Authority for more than 20 years.
A graduate of Cherokee High School, Mr. Hasty earned his associate’s degree from Reinhardt College, his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Georgia, and his law degree from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University. He served in the United States Army, which included a one-year tour of duty in Vietnam.
William Hasty serves as chairman of the Reinhardt College Board of Trustees and as a member of the Executive Committee. He and his wife, Linda, were jointly honored with the 1997 Reinhardt College Evelyn J. Gordy Alumni Loyalty Award. William and Linda Hasty proudly served as Co-Chairs for the 2005-2006 Capital Campaign for Reinhardt College.
Mr. Hasty is a member of the Cherokee County Hospital Authority and acts as vice chairman of the Northside Hospital-Cherokee Board of Directors. He is president of Riverview Cemetery Association and is chairman of the board for Cherokee C & D Landfill Inc. He serves as a member of the board of the Cherokee County Sports Hall of Fame.
William Hasty served as a member of the Bank of Canton Board of Directors for 25 years and for several years as a member of the advisory board for Wachovia Bank. He is a charter member of Leadership Cherokee 1988 and a member of Leadership Georgia 1989, the American Trial Lawyers Association, and the Cherokee County Bar Association. He is also a member of Hawks Ridge Golf Club, the Atlanta Commerce Club, the Phoenix Society of Atlanta, the Atlanta Track Club, the Cherokee County Historical Society, the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce, the VFW, the Canton Golf Club, and the First United Methodist Church of Canton.
Marion T. Pope, Jr. received his undergraduate degree in 1950 and his law degree in 1953 from the University of Georgia. In 1953, Mr. Pope returned to Canton and formed Roach & Pope with his friend Andy Roach. After a major fire destroyed their offices, Mr. Pope joined Albert Henderson to form the Henderson Pope Law Firm.
Marion Pope served in the Georgia House of Representatives from 1963 to 1965. On March 24, 1967 he was appointed Superior Court Judge to the Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit, where for 13 years he “rode circuit” through the counties of Cherokee, Forsyth, Pickens, Gilmer, and Fannin. Mr. Pope served in that position until his appointment to the Court of Appeals of Georgia by Governor George D. Busbee on January 5, 1981. Mr. Pope served as Chief Judge of the Georgia Court of Appeals from 1993 to 1994 and retired in December of 2002, after serving with distinction for more than 20 years.
After his retirement, Marion Pope returned to the practice of law where he has since focused on complex civil and appellate litigation and mediation, including personal injury, wrongful death, and catastrophic injury matters. Mr. Pope also works in the area of governmental relations and zoning matters.
In 2003, Mr. Pope was selected by Georgia Insurance Commissioner John Oxendine to mediate a multi-million dollar dispute between Promina and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia. Mr. Pope was appointed in 2004 to serve as the Special Master to the Fen-Phen class action litigation in Fulton County State Court, and he successfully presided over all those cases to conclusion through 2006.

A Mason and Shriner, Mr. Pope is also a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, member of The Lawyers Club of Atlanta, the Gridiron Secret Society, Old War Horse Lawyers Club, and The Old Guard of the Gate City Guard of Atlanta. Mr. Pope is a former trustee of the Institute of Continuing Judicial Education of Georgia, and a member of the Chief Justice’s Commission on Professionalism. He currently serves on the Georgia commission on Dispute Resolution. He was also appointed as a member of the Appellate Courts Study Commission by Lieutenant Governor Pierre Howard. Most recently, Mr. Pope chaired the “Justice Served” committee which will facilitate education about the judicial branch of government throughout Georgia. Mr. Pope is one of the original founders of Cherokee Federal Savings & Loan Association (now Bank of North Georgia ) where he held the offices of vice president, general counsel, and president. Mr. Pope presently serves as chairman of the board emeritus for the Bank of North Georgia.
Mr. Pope attends First Baptist Church in Canton, where he has been a Sunday School teacher and a Deacon for more than 30 years. During this time, he has served as chairman of the Board of Deacons for two terms, as well as on the Finance Committee and the Personnel Committee.
In 1997, Mr. Pope was presented The Tradition of Excellence Award by the General Practice and Trial Section of the State Bar of Georgia. In l999, he was presented The Phoenix Award by the Gridiron Secret Society. In 2000, Mr. Pope was named “Citizen of the Year” by the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce. In 2002, Georgia Trend magazine named Mr. Pope one of the 100 most influential Georgians.
